Master of Realms (MOR) makes map creations easy and fun. But once you’ve designed your perfect world, dungeon, or battlemap how do you share and show it to your friends and world? Whether you want to print D&D maps, 3D printable terrain files, or need maps ready for your favorite Virtual Tabletop (VTT), Master of Realms has you covered.
In this guide we will display how to export maps in Master of Realms both 2D and 3D, and what files work best for different uses.
2D Map Export – Perfect for VTTs and Printable Maps
Do you want to use your maps on platforms like Roll20, Foundry VTT, or simply want a print for your game night? The 2D map export option is what you need.
How to Export 2D Maps in MOR:
Finish Your Map: Make sure your design is complete. Add details, lighting, and labels if needed.
Click on Print Icon: Find the print icon in the top-right corner.
Select 2D Print: Choose this option if you want a flat image based map.
Select File Format: You can use such common options as JPG, PNG or Digital. Here It is possible to select the size of the page and the quality of your map too.
Export and Save: Download your map to your computer. You can now upload or post it to your favorite VTT platform or simply print it out.
Pro Tip: Export your map at highest resolution for crisp, clear, and high quality printable maps.

3D Map Export – For STL Files & Printable Terrain
Do you want to take your map off the screen and onto your tabletop? 3D map export allows you to produce files to be printed in 3D.
Here is How It Works:
Complete Your 3D design: Add walls, elevation, props and all the details you want in a real world.
Click on Print Icon: You can find the print icon on the upper right-hand side corner.
Choose 3D Print: This will provide you with a 3D print ready model.
Choose STL Format: STL files are the standard for 3D printable terrain.
Export and Print: The STL file can be printed on your 3D printer, and or share it with your print service, and in case you don’t have availability of both, Master of Realms is bringing you the Print on Demand service too. (WIP)

Pro-Level Tips for 3D Printing Your Maps:
Set Lower Layer Heights: when you need fine details on your 3D printable terrain files, you get finer results when set to lower than normal Layer heights (e.g. 0.1mm). It will bring you smoother results.
Test Print Small Sections First: Print the small corner area of the map before going all out to see the scale, detail and fit.
Exporting for VTT’s
If you play your RPG sessions online using Virtual Tabletops (VTTs) like Roll20, Foundry VTT, Fantasy Grounds, or Owlbear Rodeo, Master of Realms makes it easy to get your maps ready.
How to Export Maps for VTT’s:
Design Your Map: Add walls, terrain, objects, and all the details needed.
Click on Print Icon: Find the print icon in the top-right corner.
Select 2D print: After selecting 2D print, In export type you can see PNG, JPG and Digital options are available, select ‘Digital’.
Settings: Do adjust the file size and also you can enable or disable the grid, set the grid size, and align it to fit your VTT perfectly. This saves you time when setting up the map during your game.
Download and Upload: After exporting it is simply a matter of uploading your map to your VTT and you are ready to play!

How to Use the Capture Tool:
Click the Capture button or camera icon at top right corner.
Set the camera at the ideal position, zoom in, turn or find that epic overhead shot.
Save your cinematic shot as an image file. These cinematic shots add extra immersion to your sessions, whether online or in-person.
